Job summary

Det Norske Veritas is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to lead grid connection studies and power system modelling for utility-scale solar, wind and energy storage projects in Australia. You will collaborate with project developers, investors, NSPs and AEMO to define requirements and resolve modelling issues, leveraging PSSE, PSCAD and PowerFactory to deliver robust reports.

The role requires strong communication, ability to work with remote teams, and a Bachelor or higher degree in Power

Qualifications

• Proven experience on GPS studies and record of grid connection applications in the NEM.
• Detailed knowledge of National Electricity Rules, GPS study requirements, AEMO R1 and R2 process for grid connected generators, renewable energy power plant design and application.
• Proficient in PSSE, PSCAD. Experience with PowerFactory is nice to have.
• Proficient in Python coding language; knowledge of FORTRAN is nice to have.
• Education: Bachelor or higher Degree in Power Systems Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking grid connection studies and supporting power system modelling team for utility scale solar, wind and energy storage projects.
• Working closely with project developers, investors, consultants, NSPs and AEMO to understand specific project requirements and resolve any product related modelling or functional issues.
• Performing power system modelling, Dynamic and Steady-State Analysis using PSSE, PSCAD, PowerFactory.
• Preparation of NSPs Grid Connection application documents and technical reports, interface with clients and NSPs/AEMO for information gathering and technical discussions.
