Job summary

Alliance Automation in Sydney is seeking a Test Systems Engineer to lead design and realisation of test systems for electronic and mechanical designs. You will own the design from concept to production and lifecycle management of the systems.

You will work with design teams to ensure testability, develop Python-based interfaces, and integrate test data with ERP systems. 2–3 years of industry experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Mechatronic or Computer Systems Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience as a design engineer working across multi-discipline design teams.
• Proficiency in at least one Engineering discipline and willingness to learn others.
• Strong communication skills with non-technical stakeholders.
• Curious mindset with ability to learn complex technical frameworks quickly.
• Attention to detail with bias for action and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Design Bed of Nails test systems for rapid repeatable PCBA testing.
• Develop automatic pass/fail analysis and test reports.
• Develop software to operate test systems and automate reports.
• Collaborate with Electronics and Embedded software teams to ensure testability in production.
• Design mechanical jigs and fixtures to test dimensions and simplify assembly.
• Integrate test systems with ERP for data logging and reporting.
