Job summary

Alliance Automation is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to lead the delivery of automation projects from design to commissioning in Sydney. You will work directly with clients, translating requirements into practical, reliable control solutions and ensuring project success.

The role demands five years of control systems experience, strong PLC/SCADA expertise, and a proactive, safety-focused approach. You will join a collaborative team that values integrity and technical excellence.

Qualifications

At least five years in control systems engineering, preferably in water/wastewater or heavy industry.
Strong PLC and SCADA programming and commissioning experience.
Experience delivering projects through design, development, testing and site commissioning.
Knowledge of industrial automation architecture and networks.
Excellent troubleshooting and client-facing communication.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of technical delivery of control systems and automation projects.
Work with clients to understand requirements and develop fit-for-purpose solutions.
Design, develop, program, test and commission PLC and SCADA systems.
Develop functional specifications and key engineering docs.
Troubleshoot complex control systems and provide high-level technical support.
Ensure quality, safety and timely delivery of engineering work.
Build trusted client relationships and mentor engineers.
Contribute to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
