Job summary

Firmus Technologies Pty Ltd. seeks a Senior Platform Reliability Engineer, Fabric and Interconnect, to own reliability of GPU interconnects and high-performance networks across our AI infrastructure.

You will lead automation, runbooks and remediation tooling, partnering with platform engineering to ensure 24/7 production readiness. The role demands hands-on expertise in Linux, storage, virtualization, and observability, with experience across large-scale GPU environments and multi-tenant

Qualifications

• Experience operating production infrastructure 24/7 with SRE practices.
• Strong Linux admin and troubleshooting skills across storage, networking, processes and I/O.
• Experience with scale-out storage systems (VAST, WEKA, Ceph, Lustre, GPFS or NetApp).
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms (Proxmox, VMware, or KVM).
• Experience with observability stacks (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Elasticsearch).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and GitOps (OpenTofu, Terraform, Ansible, Argo CD).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles in ops environments.
• Ability to write clear incident updates and runbooks.

Responsibilities

• Triage, diagnose and resolve incidents across the stack, including Kubernetes, storage, and network infra.
• Operate multi-tenant control planes and manage tenancy, quotas and access controls.
• Maintain the virtualization platform and shared services to service levels.
• Operate distributed filesystems and S3-compatible storage with capacity and performance monitoring.
• Manage GPU compute fleet health, firmware/drivers, and provisioning workflows.
• Convert repeat fixes into runbooks and automated remediation.
• Investigate performance issues across data paths with network/storage teams.
• Deliver code-based changes with testing, rollout, and rollback plans.
• Leverage observability stack to track SLIs and improve dashboards/alerts.
• Lead vendor support cases with logs and diagnostics and track resolutions.
• Participate in post-incident reviews and drive improvements.
