Job summary

Firmus Technologies Pty Ltd. is seeking a Senior Platform Reliability Engineer, Fabric and Interconnect, to own reliability of GPU interconnect domains, high-performance networks and DPU-based host networking.

The role is hands-on with automation as a core capability and requires working with fabric vendors to reproduce faults and drive fixes. You will collaborate with engineering teams to provide production evidence, build runbooks, and deliver automated remediation for a scalable AI

Qualifications

• Experience operating production infrastructure in a 24/7 environment with SRE practices.
• Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with scale-out storage (VAST, WEKA, Ceph, Lustre, GPFS or NetApp).
• Familiarity with virtualization (Proxmox, VMware or KVM).
• Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Elasticsearch).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and GitOps (OpenTofu, Terraform, Ansible, Argo CD).
• Familiarity with hardware support and cyber security basics.
• Clear communication and collaboration across regions.

Responsibilities

• Triage, diagnose and resolve incidents across Kubernetes, storage, networking and Linux hosts.
• Operate the multi-tenant control and management plane with proper access controls.
• Operate virtualization platforms and shared services to service levels.
• Manage exabyte-scale distributed filesystems and S3-compatible storage.
• Run GPU compute fleet health, remediation and provisioning support.
• Automate toil reduction and publish runbooks for automation.
• Diagnose data-path performance issues with network/storage teams.
• Deliver changes via code with testing, rollout and rollback plans.
• Use observability stack to track SLIs and improve dashboards/alerts.
• Patch cycle and urgent vulnerability remediation across services.
• Manage vendor support cases with logs and diagnostics.
• Contribute to post-incident reviews and on-call roster.
