Job summary

Catalyst Metals Ltd is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to lead underground mine planning and design activities at the Plutonic Gold Mine in Western Australia. The role reports to the Planning Superintendent and focuses on safe, efficient, profitable planning aligned with expansion goals.

You will mentor Planning Engineers, work with Geologists and Geotechnical teams, and ensure procedures, economic evaluations, and optimisation studies drive continuous improvement and value creation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining or Geotechnical Engineering.
• 5+ years in mechanised hard-rock underground mining.
• 2+ years in mine planning.
• Safety-focused and committed to continuous improvement.
• Exposure to ventilation, mine infrastructure, geology, production and geotechnical engineering.
• Competent in Deswik and Ventsim tools.
• WA FCMM certificate or ability to obtain.
• Current WA C Class Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of mine designs, including Development Mining Instructions, Stope Notes and Area Plans.
• Develop and maintain mine planning procedures, standards and systems.
• Conduct economic evaluations and mine design optimisation studies, assessing methods and opportunities to improve productivity and value.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to Planning Engineers.
