Job summary

Catalyst Metals seeks a Senior Planning Engineer to lead underground mine planning for the Plutonic Gold Belt. The role is 8:6 FIFO from Perth, full-time, working with Planning Engineers, Geologists and Geotechnical engineers to develop executable mine plans that optimise safety, production and cost.

You will deliver mine designs, planning standards, and conduct economic evaluations to maximise project value while mentoring junior staff and aligning with Catalyst's growth across multiple mines

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining or Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in mechanised hard-rock underground mining, incl. 2+ years in mine planning.
• Proven leadership and mentoring ability with experience in economic evaluations.
• Safety-focused approach and continuous improvement mindset.
• Experience with ventilation, mine infrastructure, geology, production and geotechnical eng.
• Proficient with Deswik CAD/Scheduler and Ventsim.
• WA FCMM certificate or ability to obtain one.
• Current WA C Class Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of mine designs, including Development Mining Instructions, Stope Notes and Area Plans.
• Develop and maintain mine planning procedures, standards and systems to support safe and efficient mining operations
• Conduct economic evaluations and mine design optimisation studies, assessing alternative mining methods and identifying opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs and maximise project value
• Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to Planning Engineers
