Job summary

F9 Project Services is seeking a Senior Planner / Planning Engineer to join our Perth-based team, with options for FIFO or DIDO arrangements across regional WA. You will develop and manage schedules for mining and resources projects, ensuring on-time delivery and budget alignment, using Primavera P6 and CPM techniques.

Ideally, you have an engineering-related degree and proven capability in schedule recovery, risk analysis, and stakeholder engagement within owner/EPCM/Tier 1 environments.

Senior Planner / Planning Engineer - FIFO or Perth Based

About the role F9 Project Services is seeking a Senior Planner / Planning Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Perth, this position offers both FIFO or Perth-based working arrangements. You will be instrumental in developing, managing and optimising project schedules and planning strategies for complex mining and resources projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope and on budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule development and management: Develop, baseline and maintain integrated Primavera P6 schedules across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Schedule analysis and recovery: Analyse schedule performance, critical path impacts, interfaces and constraints to identify risks and opportunities. Lead schedule recovery planning and provide recommendations to support project delivery objectives.
• Project controls, reporting and risk: Support project controls processes, including schedule, cost and performance reporting. Deliver progress measurement and schedule risk analysis, including facilitating risk workshops and client training sessions.
• Stakeholder engagement and capability building: Build strong working relationships with project stakeholders, coach junior planners while promoting best-practice planning.

This is a full-time Perth-based position offering highly competitive rates. Depending on project requirements, opportunities may include:

What we're looking for

We're looking for an experienced planning professional who can influence outcomes, challenge assumptions and provide confidence to project leadership teams. You will have a strong track record delivering Primavera P6 schedules on major capital projects ($100M+), backed by relevant qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.

Ideally, you'll bring

• Scheduling expertise: Extensive experience developing and managing Primavera P6 schedules, with strong expertise in CPM scheduling, critical path analysis, float management and schedule optimisation.
• Performance, recovery and risk: Demonstrated experience in schedule recovery, forecasting and performance analysis, with hands-on experience in earned value management, progress measurement and QSRA. Exposure to project risk management and integrated project controls environments.
• Project environment: Experience working within an owner's team, EPCM and/or Tier 1 contractor environment.
• Communication and leadership: Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all organisational levels, plus experience mentoring planners, leading planning functions or supporting capability development.
• Desirable: Experience in forensic delay analysis, claims support or schedule assurance will be viewed favourably.
