Job summary

Zeal Personnel seeks a Project Manager for a FIFO role from Perth. You will lead planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover of site-based capital projects and infrastructure, ensuring safe delivery to scope, schedule and budget.

Provide engineering oversight and manage contractors to meet regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements on mining/industrial sites. Strong governance, reporting and interface management are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science, Construction or related discipline.
• Experience delivering engineering or capital projects within operational mining, processing, or heavy industrial environments.
• Exposure the full project lifecycle including design, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Formal Project Management qualification would be highly regarded.
• Experience coordinating contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary site teams.
• Solid understanding of project controls, engineering documentation and compliance requirements.
• Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor qualification is preferred.
• National Police Clearance.
• C Class Drivers licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering oversight and technical support for capital projects.
• Maintain governance through structured reporting, approvals, document control and change management.
• Monitor cost, schedule, scope and risk, implementing corrective actions and overseeing forecasting, scheduling and commercial administration.
• Manage contractors, consultants and service providers to ensure safe, high-quality work.
• Coordinate internal workstreams and external partners to maintain alignment and resolve interface issues.
• Report progress to General Manager and site executives against milestones and KPIs.
• Ensure activities meet regulatory, environmental, permitting and statutory requirements and uphold Statutory Supervisor appointment on site.

Job description

Our client seeks a Project Manager for a FIFO role from Perth. On offer is an 8 & 6 rotation ex Perth. Working on projects for a key Gold Producer.

Working on behalf of the Owners Team, as a Project Manager, you will lead the planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover of site-based capital projects and associated infrastructure, ensuring safe delivery to approved scope, schedule and budget.

About The Role

To provide engineering oversight and technical support for small to medium-scale site-based capital projects, ensuring design integrity, compliance and effective delivery through construction, commissioning and handover. The scope is inclusive of:

• Water bore exploration and development
• Tailings storage facility embankment lifts
• Processing office expansion and wastewater treatment plant
• Light vehicle workshop development
• Underground change room replacement
• Heavy vehicle workshop expansion and redesign

Key Capabilities

• Contribute to project prioritisation, scope definition and execution strategies for upcoming works.
• Coordinate planning, design, approvals, budgeting and procurement to establish projects for execution
• Lead construction projects to approved scope, schedule, budget and quality requirements.
• Coordinate commissioning, operational readiness and handover of completed assets to operations.
• Maintain governance through structured reporting, approvals, document control and change management.
• Monitor cost, schedule, scope and risk, implementing corrective actions and overseeing forecasting, scheduling and commercial administration.
• Manage contractors, consultants and service providers to ensure safe, high-quality and compliant work
• Coordinate internal workstreams and external partners to maintain alignment and resolve interface issues.
• Report to the General Manager and other site executives on progress against milestones, and performance against objectives and KPIs.
• Ensure project activities meet regulatory, environmental, permitting and statutory requirements, and hold the Statutory Supervisor appointment while on site.
• Lead the project team and drive a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement across all project phases.

What We Expect You To Bring

• A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science, Construction or a related technical discipline
• Experience delivering engineering or capital projects within operational mining, processing, or heavy industrial environments
• Exposure the full project lifecycle including design review, construction, commissioning and handover
• A formal qualification in Project Management would be highly regarded
• Experience coordinating contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary site teams
• Solid understanding of project controls, engineering documentation and compliance requirements
• Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor qualification is preferred
