Job summary

EVT Head Office seeks a Senior Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll for Australia, New Zealand weekly employees and corporate entities. You will ensure accuracy, on-time delivery, and compliance with Australia and NZ legislation, while acting as a payroll systems expert and mentor to the payroll team.

You’ll collaborate with HRIS, Recruitment, and Finance to maintain data integrity, support audits, and drive process improvements across payroll functions in a dynamic entertainment

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience in end-to-end Australian payroll.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation including Fair Work, PAYG, STP, and superannuation.
• Advanced experience in payroll systems (Dayforce preferred).
• Competency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, reconciliations).
• Experience with HRIS or recruitment systems.
• Interpretation of awards, EAs, and policy changes.
• Ability to deliver payroll accurately under tight deadlines.
• Exposure to payroll integration or process transformation projects is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end Australia and New Zealand payroll processes, including inputs and reconciliations.
• Perform first and second level payroll reviews and sign-off for compliance.
• Interpret NZ payroll legislation (Holidays Act, KiwiSaver, PAYE, ACC) in pay outcomes.
• Manage payroll lifecycle actions like cross-boarding and transfers.
• Coordinate with Finance to allocate payroll costs to GL and reconciliations.
• Respond to complex payroll queries for employees, managers, auditors, and regulators.
• Mentor Payroll Officers and drive consistency in daily processing.
• Lead process improvements and drive automation in payroll.
• Ensure timely processing of third-party deductions (KiwiSaver, child support, union fees).
• Maintain cyber security and data protection protocols.
