Job summary

EVT is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to lead end-to-end payroll for Australia and New Zealand weekly employees across all EVT Group entities. The role requires expert knowledge of payroll legislation, especially in NZ, and hands-on Dayforce experience to deliver accurate, on-time payroll with strong data integrity.

You will mentor Payroll Officers, partner with HRIS, Recruitment and Finance, and support internal/external audits while ensuring compliance with cyber security.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in end-to-end Australian payroll.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation (Fair Work, PAYG, STP, superannuation).
• Advanced experience with payroll systems (Dayforce) and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll for Australia and NZ weekly employees and corporate entities.
• Perform first and second level payroll review and sign-off for compliance.
• Interpret NZ payroll legislation (Holidays Act, KiwiSaver, PAYE, ACC) for entitlements and terminations.
• Lead payroll lifecycle actions including cross-boarding and internal transfers.
• Collaborate with Finance to allocate payroll costs to the general ledger and reconciliations.
• Respond to payroll queries and support audits with accurate records.
• Mentor Payroll Officers and drive process improvements and automation.
• Ensure compliance with data protection and cyber security in payroll processing.
