Job summary

Sydney Airport is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will deliver accurate, timely payroll processing and collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with legislative and Enterprise Agreement requirements.

This hands-on role requires ownership, proactive problem-solving and the ability to manage complex payroll scenarios in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• End-to-end payroll processing experience in a complex environment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation and superannuation.
• Experience interpreting Enterprise Agreements and Award provisions.
• Experience with payroll and HRIS systems; SuccessFactors is a plus.
• Ability to produce reconciliations, reports and audit documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process and validate fortnightly and monthly payrolls.
• Handle complex payroll matters including parental leave and superannuation.
• Interpret legislation and enterprise agreement provisions.
• Maintain HR records, master data and reporting.
• Investigate payroll discrepancies and respond to employee queries.
• Liaise with People, Finance, and external payroll providers.
• Support payroll testing, upgrades and configuration changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll accuracy and controls.
