Job summary

RED Appointments, a well-established engineering recruiter, is partnering with a reputable firm in Sydney to recruit a Senior Payroll Officer. You will manage end-to-end payroll for a mixed workforce, ensure compliance with Australian legislation, and support payroll reporting and audits.

You will work closely with the Finance team in a busy environment, applying Enterprise Agreements and payroll tax knowledge while exploring system improvements and automation opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Senior Payroll Officer or similar role.
• Strong end-to-end payroll processing for blue- and white-collar workers.
• Sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
• Experience interpreting Enterprise Agreements and Awards.
• Knowledge of PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax and related obligations.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing, including salaries, tax, superannuation, leave and workers compensation.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, Enterprise Agreements and internal policies.
• Maintain accurate employee records and complete payroll reconciliations and reporting.
• Manage statutory payroll obligations and support audit requirements.
• Partner with Finance to maintain payroll data integrity.
• Support payroll systems, technology improvements and automation.
• Provide payroll advice to employees and managers and liaise with external stakeholders.
