Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking an accomplished Payroll Manager to lead a high-volume payroll function across a large, geographically dispersed organisation in Australia. You will own governance, compliance, and operational excellence, partnering with People & Culture and Finance to support business outcomes.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will drive accuracy, efficiency, and payroll transformation, while developing a high-performing team and serving as the escalation point for complex payroll

Qualifications

• Senior payroll leadership experience in large multi-site organisations.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and industrial instruments.
• Experience leading high-volume end-to-end payroll with governance oversight.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership of the end-to-end payroll function across a national workforce.
• Ensure full compliance with legislative, regulatory, and industrial instruments.
• Oversee complex payroll activities, including executive remuneration, terminations, redundancies, and ETPs.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focusing on process optimisation, controls, and system enhancements.
• Develop and mentor a payroll team, fostering a high-performance culture.
