Job summary

Telstra in Australia is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Lead to guide and mentor a geographically diverse team, while delivering scalable orchestration solutions using Temporal and TypeScript. You will work closely with product and system owners to shape architecture and oversee complex transitions.

You will apply hands‑on expertise across the TRAMAS platform, drive observability initiatives, and explore AI‑enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Solution Architect delivering complex enterprise software and cloud solutions.
• Strong expertise in Cloud, Data & AI Engineering, including Generative AI and Agentic AI concepts.
• Deep understanding of telecommunications transition management platforms and workflows.
• Experience with ACMA-regulated number porting processes and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex technical and operational issues.
• Ability to act as a trusted technical leader across architecture, solution design, and operations.
• Experience collaborating with Product Owners, Architects, SMEs, and Delivery Teams to define technology strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a geographically diverse team of senior and junior developers.
• Design, develop and evolve resilient orchestration solutions using Temporal and microservice architecture.
• Provide hands-on technical expertise and contribute across TRAMAS orchestration system.
• Research and develop new orchestration technologies and observability platforms.
• Set up and utilise Agentic AI workflows to enhance development capabilities.
• Collaborate with Product Owner, Service Designers and stakeholders to design transitions and workflows.
• Offer level 4 support for complex transitions and ensure correct progress with systems integration.
