Job summary

Talenza in Sydney is seeking a Senior Observability Engineer / Technical Lead to drive a large-scale enterprise observability transformation. You will lead the migration from AppDynamics to Elastic Observability, establish OpenTelemetry as the enterprise standard, and shape modern SRE practices across a complex hybrid cloud landscape.

This hands-on leadership role combines engineering excellence with platform strategy, automation, and mentoring of SRE teams while delivering scalable

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering enterprise observability programs.
• Expert in AppDynamics migration and exit planning.
• Proficient with Elastic Observability and OpenTelemetry instrumentation.
• Strong SRE, incident response and reliability engineering skills.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and platform engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-wide migration from AppDynamics to Elastic Observability.
• Define OpenTelemetry instrumentation standards across apps and platforms.
• Build telemetry pipelines for logs, metrics, traces, and analytics.
• Implement SRE frameworks including SLIs and SLOs.
• Develop IaC-driven automation and CI/CD workflows.
• Create reusable observability patterns and self-service tooling.
• Mentor engineers and SRE teams; produce runbooks and standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to raise observability maturity.
• Decommission legacy AppDynamics tooling and licensing.
