Job summary

Telstra is seeking a Senior Domain Expert – DevOps to provide technical leadership for the Nokia NOrC orchestration platform and related DEaaS capabilities. You will shape long-term strategy, drive automation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance platform engineering and reliability across production and non-production environments.

Qualifications

10+ years’ experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, DevSecOps or Telecommunications Technology environments.
Extensive hands-on experience deploying Nokia NOrC orchestration solutions.
Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent practical experience.
Deep technical expertise in DevOps, DevSecOps, automation, cloud-native and platform engineering practices.
Strong understanding of service orchestration, workflow automation, telecommunications OSS environments and operational support platforms.
Proven experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, GitOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
Experience influencing architecture decisions and defining technical strategy for complex enterprise platforms.
Strong Linux administration, scripting and automation skills, including Python, Ansible and Bash.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for Nokia NOrC orchestration platform and DEaaS capabilities across environments.
Define and influence long-term strategy, architecture and evolution of orchestration and automation platforms.
Lead design, implementation and optimisation of DevOps, DevSecOps and Platform Engineering practices.
Collaborate with Product Owners, TPOs, architects and engineering teams to define platform roadmaps and priorities.
Design, integrate, operate and improve complex orchestration, automation and network management platforms.
Drive automation initiatives to improve reliability, deployment velocity and service quality.
Champion platform resilience, security, observability, operational readiness and reliability practices.
Provide expert-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex production issues.
