Job summary

Nine Entertainment Co. Pty Ltd is seeking a Platform Engineer to architect and manage an observability stack in Kubernetes. You will implement OpenTelemetry, ensure end‑to‑end monitoring, and build proactive dashboards and incident workflows.

You will automate infrastructure with Terraform/Helm, integrate across cloud and on‑prem environments, and mentor teams on best practices for instrumentation and tracing.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in platform engineering or cloud infrastructure management.
• Hands-on experience with the Grafana ecosystem (Mimir, Loki, Tempo, Prometheus).
• Experience managing observability for Kubernetes and Docker workloads.
• Experience with OpenTelemetry instrumentation and observability pipelines in cloud environments.
• IaC using Terraform and Helm; CI/CD tooling experience (GitLab CI, Jenkins, TeamCity).
• Familiar with SaaS observability platforms such as New Relic.
• Cloud knowledge (AWS/GCP/Azure) and networking basics.
• Bachelor's in CS/Engineering or equivalent cloud certifications.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and manage an observability stack in Kubernetes.
• Implement OpenTelemetry in application codebases and manage tooling.
• Ensure comprehensive monitoring, logging, and tracing across microservices and clusters.
• Build dashboards, alerts, and automated incident response workflows.
• Automate infrastructure with Terraform, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate observability tooling across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Maintain governance, security, and data integrity across the stack.
• Mentor teams on instrumentation, monitoring, and root cause analysis.
