Job summary

Silicon Quantum Computing is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer focused on monitoring and telemetry. You will own the observability stack across on-premises clusters, including Kubernetes, Ceph, and the quantum runtime environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in platform, infrastructure or SRE with direct ownership of observability.
• Expertise with Prometheus and Grafana at scale and long-term storage.
• Experience with log pipelines: Loki, OpenSearch or ELK; shipper such as Vector or Fluent Bit.
• OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing in real systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the monitoring and telemetry platform end to end across clusters, storage, network and cloud.
• Instrument platform services (Kubernetes, Ceph, CI/CD, GitHub Enterprise, Artifactory and Vault).
• Make utilisation visible to inform scheduling and hardware decisions.
• Design alerting with actionable signals and low noise; retire outdated alerts.
• Support high-rate telemetry for quantum runtime cluster without impacting realtime paths.
• Extend observability to every cluster and air-gapped sites; ensure data usefulness.
• Manage data engineering of observability: cardinality, sampling, retention, cost.
• Define and measure SLAs for internal platform services; report against them.
• Build on-call tooling and runbooks; improve after incidents.
• Help teams instrument systems with reusable libraries and conventions.
