Job summary

Optus Enterprise is seeking a seasoned software engineer to lead the design and delivery of large-scale automation and observability platforms across Australia’s national network.

You will mentor teammates, collaborate with network engineers and product teams, and drive initiatives from concept to production. Strong Go/Python skills, Linux expertise, and experience with data streaming and AI-powered automation are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years building and shipping production software, preferably in Go and Python.
• Hands-on experience with Linux environments and real-time data processing.
• Experience with observability tools and databases; familiarity with RESTful APIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of scalable automation platforms at national telco scale.
• Drive initiatives from concept to production with robust performance and reliability.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews and mentoring.
• Collaborate with network engineers and product teams to translate operational needs into solutions.
• Solve complex problems across the full stack, from data pipelines to AI-powered automation.
• Establish engineering practices and introduce new technologies to improve efficiency.
