Job summary

Optus in Sydney is seeking a Senior Network Engineer - Sensitive Customer to own end-to-end fault restoration and incident handling for secure services, coordinating across internal teams, field services, government and emergency services.

This role requires strong network operations experience, plus ITIL-aligned practices and excellent stakeholder engagement. It involves a 24x7 shift roster and on-site work at the Optus Sydney Campus to ensure rapid service restoration.

Qualifications

• Experience in telecom network operations and secure environments.
• Strong written and verbal English communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Proven incident management and service restoration capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, localise, fix and verify incidents affecting sensitive services, closing tickets to resolution.
• Ensure SLAs and KPIs are met; contribute to performance reporting.
• Act as first escalation point; coordinate Tier 1/2, field services and third parties.
• Liaise with Government and Emergency Services on authorised requests and data tracing.
• Identify improvements, document processes, and perform onshore service functions as required.
• Participate in a 24x7 shift roster and work onsite at the Optus Sydney Campus.
