Job summary

Optus is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join the Group Networks team in NSW. You will ensure the efficiency, availability and integrity of the Optus network, delivering fault response and maintenance across complex transmission systems.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills across national teams.
• Experience leading professional engineers and cadets in complex telecom projects.
• Field-based role requiring safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1/2 assurance and delivery for systems within the facility, including fault response and network build activities.
• Provide Level 2 support for complex network transmission equipment and associated assurance systems.
• Act as SME for maintenance and commissioning across networks and facilities.
• Perform critical routines and preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance.
• Mentor, coach and support peers and junior engineers to transfer knowledge.
• Contribute to root cause analysis and process improvements.
• Collaborate with national/divisional teams to improve operations, resilience and availability.
• Support deployment and recovery of Sat Cats, Leo SATCATS, flyaway kits and generators during disasters.
• Work remotely at Optus fault locations when required.
