Job summary

The Recruitment Hive Pty Ltd, on behalf of a Federal Government department, seeks a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement and maintain secure enterprise network infrastructure in Canberra.

This 6+12+12+12 month contract requires NV1 security clearance and onsite work in ACT or TAS. You will configure routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, manage VPNs and cloud networking in Azure and AWS, and work with cyber teams on vulnerabilities.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade network infrastructure.
• Experience with routing, switching, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls and load balancing.
• Strong experience implementing network security controls and remediation in Azure/AWS cloud environments.
• Experience developing network technical requirements for RFQs and conducting VFM evaluations.
• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE or AWS Advanced Networking (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure to meet performance, availability, and security requirements.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network devices.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions.
• Enforce network security best practices and collaborate with cybersecurity teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Manage and support VPNs, DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, and routing protocols.
• Work in RFQ network requirements and conduct technical and VFM evaluations.
