Job summary

The Recruitment Hive Pty Ltd, on behalf of a Federal Government department, seeks a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement and maintain secure enterprise network infrastructure in Canberra.

This 6+12+12+12 month contract requires NV1 security clearance and onsite work in ACT or TAS. You will configure routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, manage VPNs and cloud networking in Azure and AWS, and work with cyber teams on vulnerabilities.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade network infrastructure.
• Experience with routing, switching, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls and load balancing.
• Strong experience implementing network security controls and remediation in Azure/AWS cloud environments.
• Experience developing network technical requirements for RFQs and conducting VFM evaluations.
• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE or AWS Advanced Networking (or equivalent).

• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions.

• Work in RFQ network requirements and conduct technical and VFM evaluations.

Our client, a Federal Government department focused on climate, energy and environmental policy, is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support secure enterprise network infrastructure.

Duties of the Senior Network Engineer

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure to meet performance, availability, and security requirements;
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network devices;
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions;
• Enforce network security best practices and work with cybersecurity teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities;
• Manage and support VPNs, DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, and routing protocols;
• Work in the RFQ network requirements and have experiences in technical and VFM evaluation.

Skills and Experience Required

• Demonstrate extensive experience designing, implementing, managing and supporting enterprise-grade network infrastructure;
• Experience with routing, switching, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, IP addressing, firewalls and load balancing;
• Strong experience implementing network security principles and controls, identifying and remediating network vulnerabilities, and delivering networking solutions across Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud environments.
• Demonstrate experience developing network technical requirements for RFQs and undertaking technical and value-for-money (VFM) evaluations of proposed network solutions.;
• Extensive experience with enterprise-grade network technologies and vendors (e.g., CISCO, HP Aruba, Fortinet, Palo);
• Proficiency in network architecture, routing/switching, and TCP/IP protocols.
• Relevant industry certifications in enterprise or cloud networking, such as CCNP, CCIE or AWS Certified Advanced Networking, or equivalent vendor/network certifications.
