Job summary

Talent is seeking an experienced Lead Network Security Engineer to support operation, maintenance and security uplift of critical network infrastructure within a secure Australian Government environment in Canberra.

You will collaborate with technical teams to strengthen network security, assess vulnerabilities and protect ICT systems against evolving cyber threats, using defence-in-depth principles and modern security devices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a cyber security role.
• Strong experience with network security, firewalls, routers and servers.
• Assess and improve network security architectures.
• Experience securing network communications and device configurations.
• Knowledge of network protocols and defence-in-depth principles.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain and support physical and virtual network infrastructure.
• Configure, test and maintain network hardware, software and security devices.
• Assess network security architectures and recommend improvements.
• Review network configurations and implement security enhancements.
• Apply defence-in-depth principles to secure critical infrastructure.
• Provide technical advice on network hardening and cyber security risks.
