Job summary

Optus is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist, Infrastructure Engineering based in Sydney to own equipment installation, commissioning and integration standards for the Access Networks infrastructure. You will shape standards, quality practices and documentation behind the planning, design and deployment of the Optus mobile network.

This role focuses on 4G/5G technologies, power systems, telemetry and secure remote management, collaborating across multi‑stakeholder environments to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline or 10+ years of telecom project experience.
• Strong expertise in 4G/5G mobile technologies and transmission equipment.
• Experience with mobile network deployment, site build, installation and commissioning standards.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain quality standards, guidelines and technical documentation for Optus mobile network.
• Evaluate new products, lead site trials and influence vendors on innovations.
• Develop installation practices and build products, systems and databases for deployment programs.
• Design end‑to‑end solutions aligning with standards and architecture requirements.
• Provide technical direction to deployment, service assurance and field teams.
• Lead supplier forums, site inspections and audits to improve standards.
• Support lifecycle management, decommissioning and modernization of legacy sites.
