Job summary
Optus in Sydney seeks a Senior Technical Specialist, Infrastructure Engineering to be the national SME for installation, commissioning and integration standards across our Access Networks. You’ll shape standards and documentation underpinning planning and deployment of the Optus mobile network.
This role focuses on 4G/5G, power systems, telemetry and secure remote management, delivering scalable improvements, simplifying operations and enhancing service delivery while coordinating with suppliers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or substantial related experience) in Electrical/Communications Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years in telecommunications projects with strong 4G/5G exposure.
- Experience with site installation, commissioning, and lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain quality standards, guidelines and technical documentation for Optus mobile network planning, design and deployment.
- Evaluate new products/roadmaps, lead site trials and influence vendors for power systems, telemetry and resilience improvements.
- Develop installation practices and build products, systems and databases to enable mobile deployment programs.
