Job summary

Optus is seeking a senior Internet Network Engineer to lead the design, testing and deployment of our global Internet routing infrastructure. You will act as the subject matter expert, shaping architecture and ensuring scalable, resilient solutions across vendors.

You will mentor engineers, manage technical risks and collaborate with architecture, operations and project teams to deliver high-quality network designs and rollout plans.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in service-provider, hyperscale or large-scale Internet network engineering.
• Experience with multi-vendor routing platforms and architectural design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the detailed design and evolution of Optus' Internet routing infrastructure.
• Act as technical lead for complex routing initiatives and topology design.
• Develop high-quality engineering deliverables including designs, configurations and test plans.
• Lead lab testing and production implementation to ensure deployment readiness.
• Drive network automation, telemetry and observability to improve operational effectiveness.
• Provide technical assurance and leadership across the engineering lifecycle and mentor engineers.
