Job summary

Northern Star Resources is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join the Thunderbox Operations in Western Australia. This role is ideal for an engineer ready to step into a senior position and to contribute to production planning and optimisation across site.

You will operate on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth and mentor mining engineers, lead development of functional work plans, review drilling and charging plans, and drive improvement projects to enhance productivity and profitability at the

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering.
• First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency or ability to acquire it.
• Experience in underground hard rock mining.
• Desirable knowledge of long hole open stoping and pastefill.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and mentoring to mining engineers and graduate mining engineers.
• Develop functional work plans for the Mining Department ensuring production and strategic requirements are met.
• Review and approve production drilling and charging plans.
• Conceptualise, initiate, present and implement improvement projects including infrastructure for productivity and profitability gains.
• Coordinate and manage the stope reconciliation process with internal reporting records (end of month & end of stope reconciliations).
• Coordinate and manage end of month summaries and KPI-related reports.
