Job summary

Guidera O’Connor Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead multiple design projects in water and wastewater. You’ll mentor junior engineers, provide technical direction, and ensure designs meet project requirements and safety standards.

You will bring a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and 10+ years in a similar role, with strong communication across stakeholders and a thorough knowledge of HSEQ obligations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; professional Engineers Australia Stage 2 competency.
• Advanced expertise in engineering standards, principles, design methods and practices.
• Ability to guide teams and mentor entry level engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own multiple complex design projects and provide technical leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives.
• Carry out complex design work per project specs and standards.
• Be SME in hydraulic modelling, pump/valve selection, and piping design.
• Support construction and commissioning teams to ensure project delivery.
• Drive technical strategy, innovation and risk mitigation.
