Guidera O’Connor Pty Ltd seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead multiple complex design projects in the water and wastewater sector, providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers while engaging with diverse stakeholders across Australia.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 10+ years in a similar role, and proficiency in AutoCAD and PowerCAD. You will apply Australian standards and strong communication to deliver safe, compliant LV/ELV electrical designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; 10+ years in a similar role.
• Engineers Australia Competency Standards Stage 2 for Professional Engineers
• Advanced expertise in engineering standards, principles, design methods, and practices
• An ability to guide teams and mentor entry level engineers
• Effective communication skills, particularly in cross-functional, collaborative teams
• Current knowledge and understanding of all HSEQ obligations

Responsibilities

• Own multiple complex design projects and provide technical leadership to the design and engineering teams.
• Create and reviewing engineering drawings, calculations, and documentation for LV and ELV systems. HV experience considered an added advantage
• Design power distribution systems, control panels, and MCCs, including load calculations and protection studies
• Perform load calculations, fault current analysis, and protection coordination studies
• Utilise risk-management techniques (SID, HAZOP, CHAIR) to meet project quality, safety and environmental requirements
• Support construction and commissioning teams to secure project continuity and delivery
• Foster positive client relationships and drive technical strategy and innovation
