Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer in Perth to drive high-quality mechanical design outputs and detailed drawings. You will oversee calculations, ensure compliance with design intent, and coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams on complex mining or processing projects.

The role requires 8+ years of post-graduate experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in mineral processing, with strong analytical and communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years post-graduate experience, ideally in mineral processing.
• Strong mechanical design and calculation capability.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships across clients, vendors and internal teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and technical skills.
• Strong organisational, time management and communication abilities.
• High attention to detail with broad multidisciplinary awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver high-quality mechanical design outputs and drawings.
• Review project mechanical drawings to ensure compliance with design intent.
• Complete engineering calculations and designs in accordance with project, client and regulatory requirements.
• Interpret technical drawings, specifications, engineering documentation and scopes of work.
• Identify scope changes and prepare supporting documentation.
• Ensure mechanical equipment is correctly specified and sourced to meet project requirements.
