Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Perth, WA to lead complex mechanical scopes across mineral processing projects. You will own calculations, equipment sizing and technical documentation, coordinating with design, procurement and construction teams.

The role requires hands-on leadership across design reviews and interfaces with multiple disciplines. You will ensure compliance with Australian/AS/NZS standards, support procurement and commissioning, and guide project teams through

Qualifications

10+ years' experience in the design and construction of mineral processing plants.
Experience delivering complex mechanical engineering scopes independently.
Strong knowledge of Australian and international standards and codes.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead and independently deliver mechanical engineering scopes throughout the project lifecycle.
Review process design criteria, PFDs, mass and water balances to size equipment.
Perform calculations: pipe sizing, pump selection, NPSH, heat transfer, pressure/ vacuum.
Select and specify mechanical equipment; size and review datasheets and specs.
Conduct vendor evaluations and review vendor documentation.
Provide input into piping, structural, civil, electrical interfaces and studies.
Ensure designs comply with Australian and international standards and codes.
Support procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning and handover.
Participate in design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP and risk assessments.
Provide technical leadership to engineering team members and clients.
