Job summary

Logicalis Australia is seeking an experienced Senior L3 Systems Engineer to join our Infrastructure Support Services team in an on-site capacity across Sydney or Melbourne. This role focuses on high-availability environments, incident leadership and ongoing platform improvements on a global scale.

You will own critical incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive automation and security hardening across VMware, NetApp storage and related technologies.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Systems Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering experience.
• Strong VMware administration and troubleshooting capability.
• Hands-on experience supporting NetApp storage environments.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale server and infrastructure platforms.
• Proven success operating as an L3 escalation point.
• Experience supporting 24x7 operational environments and on-call rosters.
• Australian Citizenship or eligible for Australian Government Security Clearance; NV1 desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Level 3 escalation point for critical infrastructure incidents.
• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis and service restoration for Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents.
• Support large-scale VMware and enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Administer and optimise compute, storage, backup and identity platforms.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call roster supporting mission-critical services.
• Maintain infrastructure security through patching, remediation and hardening activities.
• Support lifecycle management including upgrades, migrations and technology refresh initiatives.
• Drive automation, monitoring and operational improvement initiatives.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation, standards and runbooks.
• Collaborate with vendors, project teams and stakeholders to deliver resilient services.
