Job summary

Logicalis Australia in Melbourne or Sydney is seeking a senior L3 Systems Engineer to join a global operator of mission-critical digital infrastructure. This role focuses on complex incidents, high-availability environments and continual service improvement across an enterprise infrastructure stack.

You will lead Tier-3 escalations, mentor junior staff, and work across VMware, NetApp storage and identity services, with an on-call roster and a strong emphasis on security, patching and automation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Systems or Infrastructure engineering experience.
• Strong VMware administration and troubleshooting capability.
• Hands-on experience with NetApp storage environments.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale server and infrastructure platforms.
• Proven success as an L3 escalation point.
• Experience in incident management and root cause analysis.
• Experience supporting 24x7 on-call environments.
• Australian Citizenship or eligibility for Australian government clearance; NV1 desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Level 3 escalation point for critical incidents.
• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis and service restoration for Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents.
• Support large-scale VMware and enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Administer and optimise compute, storage, backup and identity platforms.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call roster.
• Maintain infrastructure security through patching, hardening and remediation.
• Drive automation, monitoring and operational improvement initiatives.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation, standards and runbooks.
• Work closely with vendors, project teams and stakeholders to deliver resilient infrastructure services.
