Job summary

Thompson Health Care is seeking an experienced IT Operations leader to own IT operations across a multi-site environment. This hands-on leadership role combines keeping the day-to-day tech running with driving strategic improvements to support the wider business.

Reporting to the Director of Customer Experience, you will partner with an external MSP and technology vendors to deliver reliable services, manage risks, and explore AI-enabled workplace solutions.

Thompson Health Care is looking for an experienced IT Operations leader to take ownership of IT operations across a multi-site environment.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who can keep the day‑to‑day technology environment running well, while also looking at how IT can better support the wider business.

Reporting to the Director of Customer Experience, you will be responsible for the effective delivery of IT operations, working closely with an external MSP and a range of technology vendors.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading day‑to‑day IT operations and service delivery across multiple locations;
• Managing the relationship with the external MSP and key technology vendors;
• Overseeing infrastructure, devices, connectivity and core technology services;
• Identifying gaps and driving improvements across the IT environment;
• Supporting technology projects and business‑led initiatives;
• Working with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technology solutions;
• Supporting the organisation's approach to cyber security and technology risk;
• Exploring opportunities to use AI and emerging technology within the workplace; and
• Providing clear updates and recommendations to senior leadership.

About You

You will be an experienced IT Operations professional who enjoys being close to the business and getting things done.

You will bring:

• Experience leading IT operations in a multi‑site environment;
• Strong vendor and MSP management experience;
• Broad knowledge across infrastructure, networks, systems and end‑user technology;
• Experience delivering technology projects and continuous improvement;
• A good understanding of cyber security and technology risk;
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills;
• The ability to identify issues, challenge the status quo and put practical solutions in place; and
• Confidence communicating technology matters to senior stakeholders and the Board.

You don't need to be the deepest technical expert in the room.

We're looking for someone who can lead the function, manage the right partners and bridge the gap between technology and the business.
