Job summary

Optus is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to shape the IP network architecture across mobile core, voice core and management platforms from Macquarie Park, Sydney. You will drive strategy, roadmaps and detailed designs with internal teams, vendors and wider IP groups.

You will lead the design, implementation and onboarding of new IP devices and topologies, leveraging automation and Netconf/YANG, while guiding technical reviews and risk management for major projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; Master’s degree or professional certification such as CCNP/CCIE are highly regarded.
• Significant IP network engineering experience including leadership of large projects and complex engineering solutions.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and traffic engineering across Telco environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design IP network solutions for mobile core, voice core, network management and other platforms.
• Develop routing and switching roadmaps, plans and strategies for scalable, secure IP connectivity.
• Lead design and onboarding of new IP network devices and topologies using automation and intent-based networking.
• Provide technical direction and design feedback during reviews and critical operational issues.
• Gather requirements with internal customers, assess feasibility and document proposed solutions.
• Assess projects, manage risks, and provide recommendations during escalations and milestones.
