Job summary

Optus, a leading Australian telecommunications provider, is seeking a Solution Architect to join the Telco IP & PE team in Macquarie Park, Sydney. You’ll shape architecture for the IP network across mobile core, voice core, network management and related platforms.

You’ll lead end‑to‑end design, drive routing and switching roadmaps, and partner with internal teams, vendors and customers to deliver scalable, secure solutions in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required; Master’s preferred.
• CCNP/CCIE or comparable certification is highly regarded.
• Extensive IP network engineering experience with leadership in complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design IP network solutions for mobile core, voice core and related platforms.
• Develop routing and switching roadmaps and solution strategies for scalable, secure IP connectivity.
• Lead onboarding of new IP network devices and topologies, leveraging automation tools.
• Provide technical direction and design feedback during solution reviews and incidents.
• Collaborate with internal customers, project teams and vendors to gather requirements and document solutions.
• Assess projects and budgets, manage technical risks and provide recommendations during escalation points.
