Job summary

Optus is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist to join our Telco IP & PE team in Macquarie Park, Sydney. You will design and deliver IP network connectivity solutions for critical platforms and services across the Optus network.

You'll translate requirements into robust designs, documentation, automation, testing and production implementations, with deep expertise in routing, switching, data-centre networking, firewalls and hybrid cloud connectivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering or related field.
• 15+ years in IP network engineering with leadership.
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS.
• Experience with BNG, CGNAT, Telco edge routers.
• Security: IPSEC, DDoS, zero-trust, with automation experience.
• Strong communication and vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Design IP network connectivity solutions.
• Develop low-level designs and tests.
• Onboard routers and switches in Telco IP network.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors.
• Provide technical recommendations and path forward.
• Communicate complex solutions clearly and coach others.
