Job summary

AQ Design is seeking an experienced designer for a 12-month contract with potential extension. The role is fully on-site at the Upper Mt Gravatt head office with projects across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Ipswich, Toowoomba, and NSW.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in a design studio environment, with commercial and residential experience from concept to completion.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of relevant standards and building codes.
• Excellent attention to detail and design capability.
• Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Solid administrative and document management skills.
• Current National Police Check and Australian driver’s licence.
• Aged Care experience would be advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects end-to-end from briefing through to completion.
• Prepare 2D drawings, 3D models, and detailed design documentation.
• Coordinate furniture, artwork, and decorative selections.
• Manage supplier relationships and procurement processes.
• Lead FF&E selection, coordination, and ordering.
• Oversee project timelines, budgets, and logistics.
• Travel to project sites as required.
• Assist with styling and preparation for project photoshoots.
• Mentor junior designers in the studio.
