Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Design Manager, Transmission, to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of HV and MV transmission line and substation designs. You will oversee design inputs from inception through delivery, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring technical consistency and risk control.

The role covers overhead lines, underground cables, structures and protection systems, with a mandate to drive performance, oversee interfaces, and mentor junior engineers on major WA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years leading HV transmission (220kV+) design, concept to detail.
• 5+ years fieldwork supporting hands-on engineering and site work.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE and AS/NZS standards.
• Chartered status (RPEV, RPEQ, NER, CPEng) or working towards.
• Ability to complete a successful pre-employment medical and National Crime check.

Responsibilities

• Lead transmission line and substation design from concept to detail.
• Manage design interfaces across HV and MV infrastructure.
• Drive constructability, systems integration and technical governance.
• Oversee cost, schedule, design change and risk using CPI, SPI and EVM.
• Lead SiD, HAZID/HAZOP and CoM reviews and deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and build internal design capability.
• Manage external consultants and cross-functional communication.
