Job summary

ACCIONA is looking for a Design Manager to lead HV and MV infrastructure projects, enhancing Western Australia's power system with sustainable designs. This role requires significant experience and offers involvement in major engineering activities that positively impact climate change challenges.

As a Design Manager, you are responsible for overseeing design consistency, integrating systems, and mentoring teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading HV transmission (220kV+) design, from concept to detail.
• 5+ years fieldwork supporting hands-on engineering and site work.
• Chartered status (RPEV, RPEQ, NER, CPEng) or working towards.
• Ability to complete a successful pre-employment medical and National Crime check.

Responsibilities

• Lead transmission line and substation design from concept to detail.
• Manage design interfaces across HV and MV infrastructure.
• Drive constructability, systems integration, and technical governance.
• Oversee cost, schedule, design change, and risk using CPI, SPI, and EVM.
• Mentor junior engineers and build internal design capability.
• Manage external consultants and cross-functional communication.
