Job summary

ACCIONA delivers complex infrastructure across Australia, with a Power Systems team supporting transmission projects. You will lead HV primary design for substations and transmission assets, producing layouts, SLDs and reports while guiding multidisciplinary teams and embedding Safety in Design.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 7+ years HV design experience, Chartered status (desirable), and a strong grasp of HV standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 7+ years HV primary design for transmission networks (220kV+).
• Chartered status or eligible within 6 months is desirable.
• Strong HV equipment selection, layouts, bus arrangements, earthing and insulation coordination.
• Experience with Tier 1/2 EPC or TNSP is highly regarded.
• Solid understanding of HV transmission standards and relevant design codes.
• Proficient in producing GA layouts, SLDs, schematics, schedules and reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead primary design lifecycle for HV substations and transmission assets.
• Resolve design conflicts and verify compliance with standards.
• Develop layouts, SLDs and schematics for projects.
• Embed Safety in Design and constructability considerations.
• Coordinate across engineering teams (secondary, civil, structural, communications).
• Review technical documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Guide and mentor engineers to uplift technical capability.
