Job summary

ACCIONA seeks a Design Manager, Transmission, to lead planning, coordination and delivery of transmission line and substation designs across HV and MV infrastructure. You will oversee design inputs from inception to delivery, collaborating with engineering, construction and client teams.

You will drive technical consistency, manage risk and shape design solutions to support Western Australia’s energy transition and project delivery on a landmark program with significant career development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 10+ years leading HV transmission (220kV+) design, concept to detail.
• 5+ years fieldwork supporting hands-on engineering and site work.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE and AS/NZS standards.
• Chartered status (RPEV, RPEQ, NER, CPEng) or actively working towards.
• Ability to complete a pre-employment medical and National Criminal check.

Responsibilities

• Lead transmission line and substation design from concept to detail.
• Manage design interfaces across HV and MV infrastructure.
• Drive constructability, systems integration and technical governance.
• Oversee cost, schedule, design change and risk using CPI, SPI and EVM.
• Lead SiD, HAZID/HAZOP and CoM reviews and deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and build internal design capability.
• Manage external consultants and cross-functional communication.
