Jacobs in Perth is seeking a Senior Associate Secondary Engineer to join our Energy & Power team, delivering senior secondary design for HV and EHV substations, including protection, control and metering schemes and IEC 61850 systems.

You will lead engineering deliverables, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, review protection settings, and engage with clients to define requirements and deliver robust solutions for Australia’s energy transition.

Qualifications

• Secondary substation design experience across HV transmission projects.
• Experience with secondary systems, protection, control and metering.
• Ability to develop and review protection schemes and relay settings.
• Knowledge of IEC 61850 and substation communication systems.
• Experience leading engineers, checkers or reviewers on complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead secondary engineering and design across HV and EHV substation projects.
• Develop and review secondary, protection, control and metering schemes.
• Review protection setting calculations and relay coordination.
• Coordinate with Primary, Civil, Structural and other disciplines.
• Engage with clients to understand requirements and develop solutions.
