Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Associate Primary Engineer to deliver HV infrastructure projects across utilities, renewables, data centres and energy transition markets. You’ll work with HV specialists, take ownership of meaningful work and build your technical and client-facing capability within a supportive team.

This role emphasizes collaboration with Civil, Structural and Secondary Engineering, mentoring developing engineers and contributing to technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience in HV Primary Engineering within transmission and distribution environments.
• Knowledge of Australian HV design standards and utility requirements.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering deliverables.
• Great communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to quality engineering outcomes.
• Experience with AIS and GIS substations will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Deliver primary substation designs and design reviews (22kV-500kV).
• Produce and review layouts, SLDs, sections and equipment specifications.
• Support project delivery across scope, schedule and quality objectives.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Civil, Structural and Secondary Engineering teams.
• Mentor developing engineers and contribute to technical excellence across the team.
