Senior HV Site Engineer – Hyperscale Data Centers

Job summary

AirTrunk, Australia’s leading hyperscale data centre company, is seeking an HV Site Engineer to deliver high voltage infrastructure on-site. You will work with our Technology, Development, Construction and Operations teams to meet design, safety and project timelines across AirTrunk sites.

You will oversee HV equipment installation, coordinate contractors, review drawings and ensure compliance with Australian standards and WHS requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience in HV construction, site engineering or project delivery.
• Strong practical knowledge of HV equipment and installations.
• Working knowledge of Australian electrical standards, network service provider requirements, and WHS obligations.
• Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, schematics, layouts and issued-for-construction documentation.
• Experience reviewing method statements, safe work method statements, inspection/test plans, and contractor quality records.
• Competency with HV installation, testing, energisation, commissioning and handover requirements.
• Experience supervising contractors and coordinating multiple work fronts in live construction.
• Strong focus on electrical safety, permit-to-work controls and risk management.
• Proven ability to identify and resolve technical, constructability and interface issues.

Responsibilities

• Manage on-site delivery of HV networks across AirTrunk sites.
• Oversee installation of HV equipment and systems (switchgear, transformers, protection, SCADA, earthing, cabling).
• Review drawings, method statements, ITPs, SWMS and vendor docs before site execution.
• Supervise contractors and coordinate multiple work fronts to meet safety, quality, and budget.
• Drive timely resolution of non-conformances, defects and punch lists.
