Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is seeking a Senior HSE Advisor – NSW for a site-based role in Sydney on a major commercial build. The role is hands-on, autonomously running the safety function across NSW projects and coordinating with site teams and clients.

You will lead inductions, SWMS reviews, audits, and safety visits while maintaining HSE systems (HammerTech) and supporting tender activities. A strong track record in commercial construction HSE is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial construction HSE experience.
• Autonomous, self‑driven workload management.
• Hands-on site presence with safety leadership.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Proficient with safety systems and computer literacy.
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Stable career history with tenure at prior employers.
• Commercial new build experience, T3 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Predominantly site-based with some office work.
• Support multiple projects across Sydney.
• Lead site inductions, SWMS reviews, inspections and safety audits.
• Collaborate with site teams, clients and stakeholders.
• Manage SafeWork, union and stakeholder visits.
• Assist with tenders and ongoing HSE requirements.
• Maintain HSE systems through HammerTech.
• Provide practical, hands-on safety support across projects.
