Job summary

BuildRight Construction AU is seeking an experienced Head Chef for a major hospitality venue launch in New South Wales. The role demands proven leadership, commercial kitchen expertise and the ability to build a high-performing team from the ground up.

You'll shape the menu, establish kitchen systems and set the standard for food quality and service from opening day, while leading a 20+ staff in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Head Chef or senior kitchen leader.
• 2-3 years experience in a high-volume hospitality environment.
• Experience managing a kitchen team of 20+ staff.
• Relevant commercial cookery qualifications.
• Strong menu development and food-costing knowledge.
• Demonstrated leadership and people-management ability.
• Strong financial and operational awareness.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong foodsafety and HACCP knowledge.
• Professional employment history and verifiable experience.
• Ability to relocate to regional New South Wales.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a large kitchen team

• Oversee high-volume food preparation and service
• Create commercially successful modern pub menus
• Maintain consistent food quality and presentation
• Manage food, labour and operational costs
• Oversee purchasing, stock control and supplier relationships

• Monitor kitchen performance and service standards
• Work collaboratively with venue management
• Build a positive and accountable kitchen culture
• Support a successful venue opening and ongoing operation
