Job summary

Firehouse Hotel North Sydney is seeking a hands-on Head Chef to lead a busy, community-focused kitchen. You will inspire a team, create seasonal menus, and drive quality, service, and profitability.

With 5+ years as Head Chef in high-volume venues and formal culinary training, you will ensure health and safety compliance, manage inventory and budgets, and collaborate with front-of-house to deliver exceptional guest experiences. We offer career growth within a values-led hospitality group.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as Head Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced venue.
• Formal culinary training with a certificate or diploma in Commercial Cookery.
• Demonstrated expertise in a range of cooking styles and techniques.
• Excellent time management, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of chefs and kitchen staff.
• Create and implement creative, seasonal menus showcasing local produce.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and food handling regulations.
• Monitor kitchen operations, inventory and budget to maximise efficiency and profitability.
